UCAOA congratulates the new Urgent Care Fellows on their recent admission into fellowships in Urgent Care Medicine. UCAOA is pleased to support these fellowships and their contribution to the field of urgent care with annual grants of $10,000 for each fellow.

Ranier Ng, DO
University Hospitals of Cleveland
A true Ohioan, Dr. Ng (“nang”) graduated from Cleveland’s MetroHealth Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Ng is interested in a future practice combining urgent care, primary care and osteopathic manipulation. Dr. Ng will continue honing his osteopathic skills during this fellowship through a parallel track in collaboration with the UH-Richmond Medical Center’s Department of Osteopathic Medicine - the first of its kind in the fellowship’s history. Dr. Ng received academic scholarships from John Carroll University and LECOM. He was awarded the outstanding student D.O. of the year at LECOM. So what does a scholar do on his free time? He dances to contemporary tunes and belts out country songs in a karaoke! |

Gerard Martin, MD

Gerard “Jerry” Martin, M.D., graduated from the Lehigh Valley Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program of Allentown PA. Dr. Martin has been drawn to the excitement of urgencias since his volunteer days as a medical student in Mexico. This continued on during residency as he channeled his learning to specific areas in urgent and emergent medicine. However, this did not hinder his innate skills in treating the whole person. Dr. Martin is a physician leader who actively participated in the residency’s Quality Assurance Committee, developed protocols to improve patient flow and taught medical Spanish to the health care staff, a series of classes that he initiated. He also speaks basic Italian, dances the tango/salsa and is learning to play the flamenco guitar. |

Andrezej Dudas, DO

Dr. Andy Dudas received his Bachelor of Science from Loyola University and his medical degree from Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He recently completed his family medicine residency from West Suburban Medical Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.

Dr. Brett Kaplan, MD

Dr. Brett Kaplan graduated from the University Hospitals Case Medical Center-Family Medicine Residency Program in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Kaplan has tailored his 1-year training for a future practice in a rural ER setting or urgent care center with academic affiliation so he can teach. Dr. Kaplan is an outstanding physician. The UH-Urgent Care Network is pleased that he will be joining its team of teaching physicians. His long-term goal is to practice in his Georgia hometown as an urgent care provider. |

Dr. Ivan Lizarazo, MD

Dr. Ivan Lizarazo completed his Family Residency training at Cook County-Loyola-Provident Hospitals of Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Lizarazo is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Lizarazo has matured into an exemplary provider of health and a self-assured individual during this training. He is proficient in Spanish. He plans to return to his roots either in Illinois or Florida to be an Urgent Care Provider in the next few months. In the meantime, he will be working as a locum tenen physician at the UH-Urgent Care Network. |

Dr. Venkataramana Nalluri, MD
University of Nevada School of Medicine/Department of Family and Community Medicine
Dr. Nalluri’s 12 months of Urgent Care Fellowship consisted of 132 shifts at UMC Quick Care as well as additional training in the fields of Adult ER, Orthopedics-general, Orthopedics-hand, Orthopedics-foot and ankle, Cardiology, Pediatric ER, Hyperbaric Wound Care, Ophthamology, Practice Management, Industrial Urgent Care, Sports Medicine, and Radiology and Musculoskeletal MRI. Dr. Nalluri also saw a variety of patients in the Family Medicine Clinic and precepted Family Medicine Residents during this time.
Dr. Nalluri plans to continue to work at the same facilities in which she completed her fellowship training, UMC Quick Care in the Las Vegas Valley. |

Dr. Nair completed her Family Medicine Residency training at Cook County-Loyola-Provident Hospitals of Chicago, Illinois. During her senior year, Dr. Nair shared her knowledge by providing lectures to medical students from Loyola and Rush Universities. Dr. Nair thereafter transitioned seamlessly into the role of an Urgent Care Fellow at University Hospitals Case Medical Center-Urgent Care Network. Dr. Bhogal completed his Family Medicine Residency training at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School-Capital Health System, New Jersey. He served as Chief Resident in his senior year after being unanimously elected by his peers. It is the same winning personality and work ethic that endears him to the staff of University Hospitals Case Medical Center-Urgent Care Network. Gloria Kim, MD
A diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Kim has since moved to the state of California to practice Urgent Care Medicine, pending licensure approval. In the meantime, she is enjoying her freedom: traveling, camping and exploring her new habitat. Dr. Kim was Chief Resident at Columbia University’s Family Medicine Program, New York. She graduated Magna Cum Laude at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She has strong interest in working with underserved populations and volunteers locally and internationally. Dr. Kim is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. |

Raymond Adams, MD
After successful completion of the fellowship, Dr. Adams moved back to Colorado where he has strong family ties. Dr. Adams is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. He completed his residency training at St. Mary’s Family Medicine Residency, Colorado. Dr. Adams was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserves as a Combat Medic and Medical Specialist. Dr. Adams is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians. |
