Urgent Care Statistics - Benchmarking Results
In late 2007 UCAOA provided a grant to a research team out of Harvard University/Massachusetts General Hospital to conduct the first-ever national benchmarking survey. A new survey will be coming out in 2010.
Step one of this survey developed a comprehensive "sampling frame" of all the identifiable urgent care centers in the country. Over 8,000 centers were found - 1,200 of those hospital owned and the balance independently or corporately owned.
Step two of the project was to conduct the survey, in January 2008.
Step three was the analysis and reporting of the results. Final results were announced in an one-time live webinar December 10th, 2008. Click here to learn more about subsequent data releases.
